This pair of women’s athletic shoes was made in Italy around the turn of the century and features rubber soles that offered significant traction. The uppers are of tan kid and feature menswear details such as punch-work decoration. This nod to the male wardrobe reflects the fact that women were stepping into new roles and were embracing privileges that had previously been open to men only.
