Inspired by our newest exhibition,Dressed To Impress: Footwear and Consumerism in the 1980s, we’re excited to offer a one-of-a-kind vinyl record paint night with artist and Bata Shoe Museum graphic designer Gus Aguirre. In this 2.5-hour, in-person workshop, participants will be guided through the process of painting on a vinyl record in the style of Memphis design, including an image of the Original Air Jordan 1 sneaker. Learn more about the 1980s origins of Memphis design.
Museum admission, all materials, instruction, and one (1) complimentary drink are included. This is a 19+ workshop. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase. ABOUT THE HOST
Gus is an experienced designer, curator, and creative artist who directs and develops projects across various mediums including graphic design, motion graphics, web design, large-scale surface design, and painting. He has worked at several corporate and creative organizations. Currently, Gus works as the Website & Graphic Designer at The Bata Shoe Museum.
