The BSM is excited to partner with the Music Gallery as part of their annual X AVANT XVIII festival for a musical takeover of the Bata Shoe Museum. Peruse the galleries while being serenaded by the sounds of some of Toronto’s best improvisers featuring Tegan Dietsch, Lina Allemano, Why Be Normal, Tom Richards, Annie Elgie

Curated by Joe Strutt of the beloved series Track Could Bend, eight artists will perform acoustic pieces sprinkled through the Bata Shoe Museum, culminating in a concert at the end of the night. Expect shoe horns, found percussion, and (of course!) tap dancing. A playful celebration of curation, thinking outside of the (shoe)box and of the incredible musicians that live in this city.

The Museum is wheelchair accessible. Public hallways are wide enough to allow people using wheelchairs and other mobility devices to move easily through the building. There is elevator access to all public floors.
