Dear BSM Community,

During this very difficult and unprecedented time, I want to first and foremost express our sincere wishes that you and your families are all safe. I also want to let you know that the museum team is well and looking forward to sharing our upcoming exhibitions and programs when we can safely reopen our doors.

We very much appreciate the central role museums play in our society especially during this time. Therefore, despite being closed, we are all hard at work innovating new ways to engage with you through social media and online resources which include: weekly features, virtual exhibition highlights, fun crafts for the entire family, videos and more. To stay connected, we are also sending out a weekly eblasts to our subscribers. You can get on our list by clicking on the enews button at the top right of the page.

Until we can welcome you back to the museum, please stay well and continue to connect with us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Wishing you and yours the very best,

Elizabeth Semmelhack
Creative Director & Senior Curator

The Bata Shoe Museum has been actively monitoring the COVID-19 situation. The health and safety of our visitors, volunteers, and staff is our top priority. In light of this and based on the recommendation from the Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health, we will be closed effective March 14, 2020 and will reopen as soon as it is deemed safe for our visitors, volunteers and staff. During this time we will be active on our social media channels so that you can continue learning about the history of footwear.

We thank you for your understanding and we look forward to welcoming you back when we reopen the doors to the BSM.

Please email christopher@batashoemuseum.ca for any questions or concerns

Stay safe!
