SUMMARY:King Tilly’s Shoe Disaster
DESCRIPTION:Date: Saturday\, January 17\, 2026 – Sunday\, January 18\, 2026\nTime: 11:00 am – 3:00 pm\nLocation: Bata Shoe Museum\, 327 Bloor St. W.\nTickets: Free with General Admission \nHear ye\, hear ye! Step into a world of music\, magic\, and marvelous shoes! This delightful performance combines interactive storytelling\, hands-on fun\, and lively audience participation — perfect for kids\, families\, and anyone who loves a royal adventure. \nMeet King Tilly\, the royal kitty with the world’s most fabulous shoe collection. Inspired by his dear friend Mrs. Sonja Bata\, King Tilly has made it his royal mission to collect shoes from every corner of the globe. From dazzling Renaissance chopines to rugged Mongolian gutal boots to delicate ballet slippers\, each journey adds a new treasure to his ever-growing Shoe Pile — a dangerously tall tower of footwear stacked right beside the Grand Window. But beware… one mighty gust of winter wind could send this wobbly pile tumbling into chaos! \nIf disaster strikes\, will you be ready to help King Tilly sort through his marvelous collection and restore order to the royal closet? \nPerformance Times\nSaturday\, January 17 – 11:00 am\, 1:00 pm\, 3:00 pm\nSunday\, January 18 – 1:00 pm\, 3:00 pm\nSeating is limited and is on a first-come\, first-served basis. \nBUY YOUR TICKETS \nABOUT THE ARTISTS:\n \nDuo Cichorium is comprised of interdisciplinary artists Jasmine Tsui and Louis Pino. Like the Chicory plant\, the two performers are not native to Ontario\, but have taken root in the environment of Toronto. Together\, they strive to synthesize their aesthetic values with their artistic practices: playfulness\, absurdity\, and abstraction in conjunction with music performance\, improvisation\, integrated custom electronics\, and visual art. The versatility of their practice spans from intimate chamber pieces to eye and ear straining multimedia works. Jaz and Pino have both received Masters degrees from the University of Toronto studying under Aiyun Huang\, Beverley Johnston\, and Charles Settle.\n \nPlease review our Terms and Conditions in advance and check in with Visitor Services upon arrival.
