The Magic of The Ruby Slipper
Join Creative Director & Senior Curator Elizabeth Semmelhack as she sits down with Ryan Lintelman, Curator and Dawn Wallace, Objects Conservator, from the National Museum of History, Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. Discussing their ambitious project to conserve and display the iconic Ruby Slippers, hear fascinating behind-the-scenes stories, as well as challenges faced when working with the most famous footwear of all time.
A Q+A and reception will follow the conversation. Guests will also have the opportunity to view the BSM galleries, including footwear from the 1930s in WANT: Desire, Design and Depression Era Footwear.
Special Screening: Voted the most influential film of all time, join us at 4 pm for a special screening of The Wizard of Oz before the conversation. Show your Founder’s Lecture ticket at the door for entry. Popcorn included.
